More about iPhone Filmmaking Gadgets
To get back to the theme of this site for a post or two I thought that I would include something about filmmaking with the iPhone.
It has been a while since I focused on this subject and I am sorry. Okay here we go. I am hoping that for the last few months you guys have been downloading and trying some of the film making apps like Filmic pro. I am hoping that some of you have actually shot your own little short films.
If you are still waiting to get started that is cool, we can start at the beginning. You will need at least an iPhone 4. I have seen a few shorts made with the iPhone 3 and I would suggest only using it if that is the only smart phone that you have available.
“Hey can we use a different type of smartphone?”
Sure, go ahead and try it. You will have to find the apps that make filmmaking possible, but this is going to be your film so shoot it with what every device you feel most comfortable with.
Once it is shot and you want to show it to the world (if it is a short) I would suggest youtube or vimeo. They are both great platforms for your iphone film or digital film. If you managed to shoot a feature I would try to market it and not give it away if the quality is good.
Okay here is a great all purpose tutorial on the gadgets that are available for iPhone filmmaking.
Mobile Filmmaking Gear from Photojojo from Vimeo Video School on Vimeo.
Okay guys, go out and make a film. It could be a minute long and it could be the shakiest film every shot, but until you do your first one you can not do your second and third one.
That is it for now. Please add us to your google plus and stumble us on stumbleupon.
Final note for today. If any of you are in the middle of shooting a film using your iphone or any other digital device contact me and tell me about it. I am looking to add a guest post page. Where other filmmakers will add articles about their work. Leave a comment that you want to be contacted and I will get back to you.
