iPhone filmmaking, Micro-budget to Major League Filmmaker
Today we are going to be looking at two filmmakers and their iPhone filmmaking dreams.
The first filmmaker that we are going to check in with is filmmaker Jennifer Zhang. I understand that she shot her entire film, Charon, with an iPhone 8.
During quarantine, Charon was shot in one location and edited with the iPhone. It has gone on to win many festival awards. (WINNER – Award of Recognition at INDIEFest; FINALIST – Frostbite Film Festival; Nominated for Best Writer – AltFF Film Festival; Official Selection – JellyFest; Official Selection – International Mobile Film Festival )
Let’s have a look at the trailer for this iPhone film.
Next up we will look at a short film shot with the iPhone 13. This was made by the legendary Korean film director Park Chan-wook who directed Oldboy. This acclaimed director along with cinematographer Kim Woo-Hyung has given us all a glimpse of what we can achieve with the amazing cameras that we carry around with us every day.
The title of this iPhone film is Life Is But A Dream.
