A New Year, a New Tool

With the new year I thought that I would do a quick post on the dslr camera that may be the most cost effective tool offer to low budget film makers in many years.
The tool is the Panasonic GH3 digital camera.

It seems as if this camera was designed with the filmmaker in mind. The only DSLR that can rival it for video image quality is the Canon 5d mark III and that camera cost about two thousand dollars more. For the low budget film maker this camera is ready to get the job done right out of the box. All you will need is to add a quality mic or external audio recorder and you are ready to go.

If you are planning to shoot something that can stand up on a big screen with major Hollywood films then this camera and a basic understanding of production values can get you to that level. Being a digital film maker is not easy. It requires a great deal of time effort and hard work, but this new tool can make the job a little easier.
